Organisational audit

What your audits don’t tell you

An audit that changes nothing is not an audit. It is a ritual.

The problem

Conventional audits measure the gap against the standard. They assess the organisation against an organisation chart, job descriptions, prescribed processes and records. They note what is missing. But they almost never address what people actually do, or why they do it that way.

The result: the same nonconformities come back from one audit to the next. Action plans correct symptoms without touching the causes. The audit becomes an exercise in documentary compliance: a ritual that reassures, but does not transform.

The paradox is striking: the most audited organisations are not necessarily the best performing. Because the conventional audit remains a prisoner of what is prescribed. It assesses what should be, not what is.

Our vision: an audit that listens to the shop floor

At QALIA, we believe an audit should serve the organisation, not just reassure it. That means changing stance: moving from control to understanding, from document checking to listening to the people doing the work.

Our auditors combine two complementary dimensions:

The normative dimension: command of the standards, the search for objective evidence, conformity assessment in accordance with ISO 19011. This is the foundation of the profession.

The field dimension: understanding what teams actually do, the context in which they work, and what helps or hinders work being done well. A QALIA auditor looks at the what and the how, not only at the traceability of what was prescribed.

This dual reading produces findings that make sense to both the teams and management. The auditor is not an inspector, but a translator between normative requirements and actual practice.

Beyond what is prescribed

Our auditors are trained to look beyond documentary compliance. They pay attention to the real dynamics of work, to cooperation between functions and to the constraints that operational staff face. It is this sensitivity to the field that gives our audits their added value.

Our audit formats

Diagnostic audit: a full assessment before a transformation or improvement initiative, combining system analysis with observation of how the organisation really operates. A diagnosis that asks the right questions before looking for answers.

Outsourced internal audit: senior audit expertise at your organisation’s disposal. Continuity of your audit programme, an external perspective, guaranteed independence. Particularly suited to SMEs and mid-sized companies without a dedicated audit team.

Pre-certification audit: preparation for initial certification, recertification or a surveillance audit. Identification of gaps, mapping of risk areas, support for your teams.

Supplier audit: assessment of your supply chain against your standards and specific requirements. On-site audits, quality maturity assessment, verification of the conformity of critical processes.

When the issue goes beyond the audit

An audit reveals gaps. But some dysfunctions cannot be resolved by a corrective action plan. When problems are rooted in organisational dynamics (power games, individual strategies, breakdown of cooperation), you need to go beyond the audit.

This is the role of the Q-SYNQ® approach. It draws on expertise in the sociology of organisations to analyse human dynamics in depth and build lasting transformations. The audit identifies the symptom. Q-SYNQ® addresses the cause.

✨ Need to go beyond the audit?

When the issue is organisational, the Q-SYNQ® approach provides an in-depth analysis of real dynamics and a transformation plan grounded in the reality of your organisation.
